Here is what you do before your spray tan:

• Exfoliating your skin before a spray tan session is a must. Focus on the driest areas, elbows, knees, hands and feet. Do this 24 hours prior to tanning to promote even coverage and extend the duration of your tan.
• Make sure your skin is clean. Remember, do not shave or wax the day of and do not put on any lotion or oil. Sunscreen , lotions , perfume, makeup and deodorant can create a barrier between the tan and your skin.
• Remove all old tan before applying a new one. If you spray over an old tan, you are at risk of fading quicker and may look patchy in areas.

Here is what you need to keep in mind on the day of your spray tan session:

• Dress for your tan however you feel most comfortable. Wear as much or as little as you prefer. Most choose to wear underwear or a swimsuit. Keep in mind the outfits you’ll be wearing while showing off your tan. Men and children under 18 must wear undergarments.
• Wear something dark and loose to slip on after getting sprayed along with flip-flops. Avoid anything tight, including bra straps, sports bras, socks, even your handbag strap could leave lines where the strap rubs.
• Bring flip flops or open-toed shoes to wear after your session to avoid smudging the solution on your feet.

Here is what you do after your spray tan:

• Plan to stay dry. Avoid showering, opening the dishwasher, working out, sweating, crying and skin on skin activities for at least eight hours following your appointment.
• Moisturize your skin daily after your session to help maintain your tan and avoid dryness.

• Avoid long, hot showers and baths as they can fade your tan more quickly.
